It's been a while, but we're excited to announce that 200L is officially making a return for its fifth season! The last event we hosted was Overdrive around September of last year, which unfortunately didn't have the greatest numbers, but luckily, we were still able to make it work. When considering the recent activity in lounge, along with the fact Season 4 took place in last April, we thought it would be a great time to bring it back.

Just like previous events, this season will follow WCL format, meaning that there will be divisions with (provisionally) six teams. Depending on the number we total, it could either be more or less depending on how we see fit. Assuming it turns out to be what we are anticipating, which is six teams per division, the season will take a total of ten weeks.

We'll also be using the same timeslot as previous seasons, that being 4:00 PM EST / 22:00 CET on Saturdays, but one disclaimer we'd like to make is that chances are very high 200L will conflict with other MKC events. While this is certainly not something we would have wished for, it is hard to reserve time nowadays, especially with how long our seasons are, so we do not recommend signing up if you do not believe your team will be reliable enough given this timeslot. This is part of why we tried to reach out and see if teams would be able to play on Fridays, but since an overwhelming majority seem to have an issue with it to degree, we had to abandon that idea.

With all of this in mind, we'd like to emphasize that we'll be more strict when it comes to reschedules—teams are certainly permitted to use their one reschedule if they need to, but the bottom line is that MKC events are not an excuse to not play your match. Technically we could just allow teams to play whenever, but that is very hard to organize and can get out of hand very easily. When the time comes, things can probably be arranged, if absolutely necessary.

Teams will have until January 30th @ 11:59 PM UTC to confirm for 200L Season 5, and rosters will be locked at this time as well. Just remember that the manager/leaders who appear on the registry are automatically assumed to be the team representatives, so make sure everything (especially Discord tags) are correct. It should go without saying, but make sure that team representatives are also in the server.

Finally, we'd like to remind everyone of the recently-implemented opt-out feature on the registry. This is made for players who won't be available to play the season, so if you do not want to be considered as part of your team for seedings, make sure to opt-out if you and your team agree it is best. In order to opt-out, simply go to the tournament page, and from there, if your team has already signed up, you should see an option to opt-out. If you opt-out and want to opt-back-in you just repeat the process. Of course, if there are any questions, don't be afraid to ask any of us on staff.

The season will start on February 6th, and is expected to run until April 10th. As teams sign up we will provide updates as to what could change depending on the circumstances of course, but with that being said, we hope you're looking forward to participating in this new season!
