REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JUNE 17, 2022 @ 23:59:59 PM UTC
DATES: JUNE 25, 2022 - AUGUST 6, 2022

Introduction

Hi, everyone! We are happy to announce that 200 League is back for another season. We were pleased to see that there was still interest in 200L: Overdrive when we hosted its third iteration, but given that our last season ran from the end of 2021 to earlier this year, plus the fact we are now heading into the summer, we thought it would be a good time to host another one.

We would also like to take this opportunity to set the precedent that, moving forward, we are hoping to host at least three events a year. Typically, we like to run our events alongside MKU seasons, since those Saturdays are usually vacant (or not home to major tournaments at that time). With that in mind, you can probably expect a 200L event of some sort whenever an MKU season is happening.

Lastly, we would like to be clear that we are always looking for feedback. Given the size of our general player base, we are always looking to do what is of the most interest, so if there is something you are interested in (200L season, Overdrive, UML, etc.), please let us know.

Format and Ruleset

This season we will be running 6-team WCL format, with playoffs. Please refer to the spoiler below for a brief summary. You can also refer to this thread if you are interested in more details. Please ask the 200L staff if you have any questions about the temporary new format this season.

In WCL format, six teams comprise each division. The first five weeks of the season will be designated for round robin play, where teams will play each opponent in the division twice. After week five, the team who places first in the regular season will have a bye week into finals. The teams which placed second and third in regular season play will face off in a Best-of-3 semifinal in week six. The winner plays the regular season winner in the best-of-3 finals to determine the division winner.

Similar to all other tournaments hosted on MKCentral, 200L Season 7 will utilize the MKCentral Universal Ruleset, which can be found here.

Also, regarding the ruleset, a few changes were made since last season. We ran into a fair number of issues this past season, either due to a lack of clarification or apparent loopholes. You can find the changes here.

Player & Team Registration

Team registrations, as well as the player registration/transfer deadline, will be open from now until June 17 @ 23:59:59 PM UTC. You can register your team on the 200L tournament page, listed on the MKC Tournament Listing, and also linked above and below. As always, only team leaders or managers can sign their team up for the season, and they will also be the ones to receive the Team Representative role in the 200L Discord server, so make sure that everyone is accounted for.

Additional Information — Reliability, War Results, Opt-Outs

Teams are expected to be reliable. Given that 200L falls on Saturdays, it is very likely that 200L may overlap with other events hosted on MKCentral (for anything that runs at 3:00 and 4:00 PM ET/21:00 and 22:00 CEST). We encourage anyone who is interested to register, but obviously, we would like to ask that anyone doing so is certain they will be able to play out the season. Reschedules will be permitted at staff discretion for those who need them, but do not expect to have the opportunity each and every week. It also depends on the availability/willingness of the opposing team.

In further regards to reliability, it would be helpful if we had access to each team's war results. This is because it allows us to better understand where teams stand in contrast to other teams to create the most balanced divisions possible. It is not necessary to have a staff member in your server (unless you are willing to, which is totally appreciated), but just sending tables to staff members is fine as well, if you choose to share any. Even if you do not do this, we may still have someone reach out, so we would appreciate cooperation if we request tables.

Also, just as a reminder, any players who are registered for a team but do not plan to play in any matches (or do not want to be considered during the seeding process) are encouraged to opt-out. To opt-out, simply go to the tournament page, and from there, if your team has already signed up, you should see an option to opt-out. If you opt-out and want to opt back in you just repeat the process.

200L Season 7 will begin on June 25, 2022. The season will end on August 6, 2022.
