Hello all,
I'm glad to say that Amplify is off to a great start this year with more teams than ever and plenty of interesting matchups. In order to prevent further issues regarding the tournament, we have some changes and announcements to make.
First of all, screen captures are now required when submitting results. This is indicated in rule VIII.c., effective for all Amplify matches from now onward:
Next, a reminder that 5v5 matches are not permitted in Amplify. This means that matches must be played 6v6 or 6v5, or else a forfeit will be applied to the match. One reason this rule exists is to ensure fairness by avoiding conversions. Conversions will never be 100% fair unfortunately, due to differences in game dynamics and mathematical properties of scores. Because bracket seedings depend heavily on +/- scores this time around, we will continue to enforce this.
Another reminder, please use the identical clan tag (no substituting special characters), and use a Mii name that is close to or the same as your registered name. We had to hand out a fair amount of penalties for this during Week 2, so we would like to avoid this next time around.
Finally, regarding Paris Games Week in two weeks from now. To those who are attending, we would ask that you approach staff in advance if your team needs a reschedule. We really don't want to be handing out forfeits for teams that can't make it, so please let us know if this is a concern for you. We will do our best to make sure things are handled well.
