MK8DX Bot is a powerful tool designed to make table submission/updating as easy as possible. Users submit tables using a bot command, which sends tables to a database that updaters can access and approve/deny tables from.
This guide will show you how to submit tables to results channels using the bot; starting in Season 4 this method will be
required for a table to be updated; simply sending a picture of the table will not be allowed, unless there are issues with the bot. As such, it's best to start using this table submission method now. Doing so will also cause tables to get updated faster, so there are many immediate positives to using this method.
To submit a table, use the following format:
!submit table <size> <tier> player1, 0, player2, 0, player3, 0, player4, 0, player5, 0, player6, 0, player7, 0, player8, 0, player9, 0, player10, 0, player11, 0, player12, 0
player1-12 should be replaced with the names of the players, and each 0 should be replaced with their scores. Here is an example of a valid use of the command:
!submit table 2 A avalon, 95, saka, 99, keke, 94, Simba, 82, Roze, 104, yuru, 69, JBMK_OFF, 87, CorvisquireMK8DX, 67, robel, 81, Pachimon, 71, junos, 81, Milotic, 54
This command takes quite a lot of effort to type, so I included a command that will convert the text from
gb.hlorenzi.com tables into a valid command. Simply type
!lorenzi2table or
!l2t, and then paste the text from the Lorenzi site, and all you'll have to fill out is the format and tier.
Once you've submitted a table with correct names and scores, the bot will display a preview of the table. You have 30 seconds to review the table and make sure everything is correct, then click the check mark emoji. If time runs out or if you click the X reaction, the command will cancel and the table won't be submitted.
Once you click the check mark, the table should be sent to the correct results channel for that tier, and your table is submitted!
Common errors
If you receive a message like this after using the
!submit table command, that means at least one of your player names is incorrect. Their name might have spaces, or could have been entered incorrectly. For a table to be accepted by the bot, all 12 player names must match their name on the leaderboard.
The sum of all players' scores in a lounge match should be equal to 984 99% of the time; however, in rare cases, the score might be different due to lag or another cause. Most of the time, however, the score is less than or greater than 984 due to user error. As such, the bot will still allow tables with sums not equal to 984, but it will display a warning first to let the user know that something might be wrong.
