Introduction

Hey everyone, I hope this announcement is finding you well. It's been a month or so since we hosted our last event - one that was relatively successful, at that. There were several new teams that took it upon themselves to participate, and because of that, both divisions were a lot of fun to watch as the action unfolded! But of course, with every season, we always take some time to consider what could have gone better or what we should take into account for the future, and one of the factors that stuck out above all was the duration of our events.

We've heard several suggestions to run a tournament similar to the current MKU format but usually we don't pull enough teams for it to work effectively and honestly there is a huge skill gap between all of the teams, making it something that probably wouldn't work out. We did receive other suggestions, however, and the one that stuck out to us in particular was the idea of running a bracket-style tournament, which is what we have decided to do.

Welcome to 200L: OVERDRIVE

________________________________________________________________

Format
200L Overdrive will be a standard double elimination tournament. Any teams that lose twice will be eliminated. Depending on the number of sign-ups, we may also host an amateur bracket for the teams that get knocked out early as well, so definitely consider playing! With the right number, we can make this a great tournament.

Match Dates & Times
Starting Date: Saturday, August 22nd.
Ending Date: Saturday, September 19th.
Regular Match Times: 3:00 PM EDT / 21:00 CEST & 4:00 PM EDT / 22:00 CEST (if 2 matches are played, otherwise matches will be played only at 4:00 PM EDT).

Because of the possibility of two matches, we're also asking that you please consult with your team before signing up. Considering that this is a bracket-style tournament, we cannot just allow reschedules willy-nilly like we have in regular 200L seasons, so if you think that something will get in the way of match times, do not sign up. We are expecting this tournament to end on September 19th assuming everything goes as planned, but if there is a change we'll be sure to let you know.

Team Registration & Transfer Deadline
Transfer/Registration Deadline: Sunday, August 16th at 8:00 PM EDT (12:00 UTC)

If you have consulted with your team and feel confident that you'll be able to play every match, feel free to sign up on the tournament page which can be found by clicking here.

With registration closed, the bracket is set and is also allowing predictions if anyone is interested: https://challonge.com/3cnl1cvb

Match times and dates are viewable on the bracket as well, but we have a schedule here in case it makes things easier to understand.

Even if this is a bit of a smaller turnout than we were anticipating, we think this will run just fine and we hope all of the teams participating enjoy it. Best of luck!
