About MKPL

The Mario Kart Professional League, a private LATAM Championship event for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, in collaboration with Mario Kart Central, is a semi-professional tournament, divided into 2 divisions (All Stars & Deluxe). This tournament seeks to bring together the best teams from different divisions in search of the constant challenge in the competitive field of Mario Kart. Tournament Format

• MKPL will be split into 2 even divisions, featuring an All Star Division (top half seeded teams) and Deluxe Division (bottom half seeded teams).
• Attempts to artificially lower your seed for the tournament may result in a tournament ban.
• Group Stage: Teams will be split into groups of 4 or 5, and play a round robin with the top 2 qualifying for the top 8 bracket.
• Bracket Stage: Advancing teams will play a single elimination bracket to determine the champion of the tournament.
• Quarterfinals will be a best of one match, while the final 2 rounds will be best of 3s.
• Please refer to the Universal Ruleset for standard tournament rules.

Participants and Awards

• Registration is completely free, opening on February 21st and closing on March 8th.
• All teams on the MKC registry are eligible to enter.
• The total prize is $200 USD or $4,000 MXN.
  • $150 US ($3,000 MXN) for the 1st place team in the All Star Division (Teams seeded 1-32)
  • $50 US ($1,000 MXN) for the 1st place team in the Deluxe Division (Teams seeded 33-64)
  • Please be aware prize pool values are approximate depending on desired currency exchange rate from the winning team.

• Matches will take place between 2pm and 5pm EDT.
