We're excited to announce the latest update to the registry system on MKCentral! The first part of the update is a general aesthetic improvement across the board. We've added some nice splashes to color and a cleaner look with some icons and buttons in some places, to make it more pleasing to look at and use. Although the changes are minor, they complement the larger part of the update: our new homepage!
While you may be used to the forum listing being MKCentral's homepage, we hope you'll consider bookmarking the new homepage too. Although the forums will continue to stay and be used, our new homepage ties in with the registry to provide a wide array of information at a glance. At the top, you'll see the latest tournaments, whether they're upcoming ones to register for, or recently ended ones, which will show the top 3 finishers for the world to see. Also near the top is a panel highlighting recent team transactions, with a quick link to our newly redesigned recent transactions page.
Down below, you'll find the latest players and teams to register, as well as a randomly-selected "Featured Player". As an additional supporter perk, Supporters are given a 10x chance of being randomly selected as the featured player. At the bottom of the page, you'll find our media embedded, giving you the latest updates from our Twitter, Twitch, and YouTube channels.
You can access our new homepage by clicking "Home" in the site menu bar. From the homepage, you can get back to the forums by clicking "Forums" in the menu or in the "quick links" at the top of the page. As another new feature, when viewing the homepage or any other page on the Registry, you'll have a notification badge at the top of the page if you have any unread forum alerts!
Finally, visiting mariokartcentral.com in your browser should now lead you to the new homepage, as well as clicking the site logo in the top left. If this doesn't work, there's a chance your browser has cached the old homepage in its site data. You can clear the site data from mariokartcentral.com in your browser's settings to fix this.
We hope you enjoy this update, and we plan on adding more in the future, including new information on the homepage as we develop the site.
