Overview
The way UML will work this time around is it will be divided into regions between the Americas and Europe, as we've seen that UML runs extremely well in smaller scenes, rather than the entire community playing in one event. The events will run during the same time period and follow the same schedule. The European matches will take place at 9PM CEST, while the American matches will take place at 9PM EDT.
Teams in total will be 9 players, where the captain selects 8 players throughout the draft. The draft will be snake format.
Organization
Organization for both the European and American UMLs will take place in the Summer UML Series server, which you can join here. When you join, you'll have to react to a Carl-bot role and verify which UML you will be participating in. Everything regarding announcements, the draft, and organization will take place in this server.
Eligibility
The standard rule we'll be following for these tournaments will be that you can only participate for the UML in the region you live in. For example, if you're a citizen of both Mexico and a European country but live in Mexico, you can only play the American UML.
Dates + Format
The format for the event will be groups into a double elimination bracket. There will be one match a week during the groups phase, and then multiple matches per matchweek during the bracket phase. The first date for matches will be on July 17th, and the Grand Finals for the bracket phase will be August 16th.
Draft
The draft will take place the week before, at the same time matches take place for your region. The draft will take place on July 10th, live on the MKCentral Twitch! Selected captains will be notified well beforehand and will have to provide a team name and tag for their team to use throughout the event. If you'd like to be considered for a captain spot, mark yourself as a host on the tournament signup.
