RULES 10th SEASON - AMERICAS CUP
Please make sure to read the universal ruleset here --> https://www.mariokartcentral.com/forums/index.php?threads/mkcentral-universal-ruleset-for-mk8dx-team-competitions.7801/1. Match time
- The standard time for wars will be Fridays, with the following time references in Phase 1:
- México - 8:00 and 9:00 pm
- NA East - 9:00 and 10:00 pm
- ASIA/AUS - 11:00 am and 12:00 pm / 1:00 and 2:00 pm (Saturday)
- Time references in Phase 2:
- México - 8:00 and 9:00 pm
- NA East - 9:00 and 10:00 pm
- ASIA/AUS - 11:00 am and 12:00 pm / 1:00 and 2:00 pm (Saturday)
Please keep in mind an additional third match may be necessary for some teams starting an hour after the start of the second match, but we will do our best to prevent this from happening often.
2. Tournament structure
- There will be two phases in this tournament that will be built to reflect the number of teams/groups that there are:
- Phase 1: Round Robin (12 races)
- Phase 2: Double elimination Bracket (12 races)
- The number of maximum available places will be 48, with a minimum of 16 expected. Any team that is not on the official list will become a substitute in case another team drops out in the middle of the competition.
3. Eligibility
- Only teams registered in MKCentral with more than 6 Americans members are allowed to participate.
- The registration of Australian and Asian teams will be limited to 6 teams. For them, rule 3.1 doesn’t apply for obvious reasons.
- Team rosters are locked at the time that team registration closes. Any player who registers later will NOT be able to participate.
- If a player registered after the deadline participates in a match, the team will be deducted the total score of that player. If this occurs more than once, the team will be disqualified.
- Players must only play for the team of which they are registered in MKCentral. Allying and alting is forbidden. If this is a planned occurrence, the removal of the guilty team will be strongly considered. This includes FC changes without prior notice.
- Teams participating that have members from outside of the Americas can use up to 1 foreign player. For example, this means that a team can have 5 American players and 1 British player.
- This rule excludes Australian and Asian teams.
- Banned teams cannot participate this season.
4. Results
- Threads for results must be posted within 16 hours upon finishing the war. Failure to do so will result in the WINNING team being forced to forfeit 150-0.
- All threads for results must have the Group or Bracket in the threads title (For example, threads could look like [Group A] ıF 391 - 245 Ly, [Gold LR1] Mushroom Team 566 - 418 Vice House, or any other similar variation).
5. Extras
- Staff has the power to address any issues or complications not addressed in the Americas Cup ruleset as well as the Universal ruleset in any way they see fit in order to ensure the tournament runs as smoothly as possible.
- Issues regarding another player or teams presenting lag require at least two separate instances within the war in question that could be used as proof sent to AC staff for review.
