Getting verified on 150cc Lounge Discord

i wanted to start playing competitive on Lounge but i wonder how i can get verified, while the "Send Link Button" is still not working.

Do we still need to do this in order to play on 150cc lounge? I just submitted my link for verification today. Was this just what folks needed to do in order to get verified while the send link function wasnt working?
