I. WELCOME TO MKTour LOUNGE SQUAD QUEUE!
a. Today we'd like to introduce a new way of playing Lounge that combines elements from both of the types of events listed earlier: Squad Queue!
The idea is similar to party systems in other ranked games: players form squads with their friends and play against similarly-ranked squads for MMR. The way it works in lounge in simple: players queue up with their partners, then squads are placed into similarly-skilled rooms based on their average MMR. These events will be held by MKCentral Event Organizers (SQ Staff in MKTC Lounge) 2-3 times a week to make sure we get enough teams to make balanced rooms.
II. MKTC LOUNGE SQUAD QUEUE OFFICIAL RULESET
a. We'll be making some important changes to Squad Queue (SQ) in accordance with MKTour Lounge Official Ruleset.
b. Once a room has been opened, players will have 5 minutes to join the room.
c. Players that join the room late will receive a -50 MMR strike.
i. Quick clarification. On the 5 minute penalty for Squad Queue; you should not start the room immediately at :05 if there aren't 8 people in the room yet. If a player still has not joined the room 5 minutes after the penalty time, they will receive -100 MMR and a strike. After 10 minutes, you can start. For example. Which means that given the event in 2v2/4v4 and if here are not 8 players after 10 minutes, it will be played with 7 players and CPU.
d. If a player fails to show up for a match, misses at least half of an event, or trolls during an event (rules j. and l. in section IV of the MKTour Lounge Official ruleset) they will receive -100 MMR strike, in addition to receive the SQ Restricted role for 1 week. This role is essentially a ban from SQ for the duration that the player has the role.
e. Subs are allowed in SQ. However, for a player to be eligible to sub, their MMR must keep their team's average MMR within the range of the room. In other words, if a team would be in a different room if their team MMR was different, then the sub isn't allowed. If a team can find a substitute player and have them join the room before the late penalty time, then they can "save" the player getting subbed out from receiving the SQ Restricted role, since the purpose of the role is to prevent matches with less than 8 players.
i. If a team gets a sub which would put their average MMR in a different room, the whole team will receive -50 and a strike at minimum. If the team wins more than 50 MMR, the penalty will be increased to match the amount of MMR they would have gained.
III. HOW THE BOT WORKS
a. To start a squad, type !c and tag your partners. They will be "invited" to your squad, but won't actually be in it until they type !c themselves. Here's an example of this in action:
b. To join a squad you've been invited to, just use the !c command. Once every player in a squad has accepted their invitation, they'll automatically be added to the mogi list.
c. You can also view the list of confirmed teams using !l like you would in a regular lounge event:
d. To remove your squad from the mogi, just type !d like you would do in a regular lounge match.
e. Once signups close, a Event Organizer (SQ Staff), Lounge Staff, or Administrator will use a special command to make rooms automatically, which sorts the list based on average MMR and places squads into as balanced of rooms as possible. Each player will be placed into a special channel based on their room.
IV. EVENT DETAILS
a. Signups for each event will open 1 hour before the scheduled time and close 10 minutes before the scheduled time.
b. This works like regular lounge, but there are a few changes. The most important change being: You can choose your own partner of choice.
c. Also, rooms are sorted by the base MMR of the teams. (Meaning that based on your squad's MMR average, you will be placed in a room with squads that have a similar MMR to yours).
d. The bot is compatible with 2v2 and 4v4 mogis, so depending on what tournaments are hosted on a given week, we'll try to host a Squad Queue event of the same format that week.
e. MMR gains and losses in Squad Queue will be multiplied by 0.825x. This multiplier may be changed later on depending on how much influence these matches have on MMR overall.
f. Squad Queue is only able to run at a certain timeslot though, so be sure to be on the lookout in this channel (sq-info) for when it'll be available!
That's all, if you have any questions or concerns feel free to ask in the Lounge server or talk to an administrator.
We hope you look forward to playing this new feature, and enjoy Season 6!
