REGISTRATIONS

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JANUARY 31, 2024 @ 23:59:59 PM UTC
DATES: FEBRUARY 2, 2023 → MARCH 1, 2023

Introduction

Clear out your Friday night plans, because Pacific League returns for Season 5!

Format and Schedule

For Season 5, we will be sticking with the WCL format. As a refresher, the WCL format splits teams up into different divisions depending on their skill level, with each division bearing six teams. Matches will be played in a Double Round Robin style, with each team playing each other twice. As such, the tournament will last for five weeks. Whichever team has the best record after these five weeks will be crowned the champion of their respective division.

Each week, for five weeks, matches will take place on Friday evenings at 9:00pm EST and 10:00pm EST. For Australian and Japanese teams, matches will take place on Saturday afternoons at 1:00pm AEDT (or 11:00 JST) and 2:00pm AEDT (or 12:00 JST).

Player and Team Eligibility

We will be slightly relaxing our eligibility rules for this iteration of Pacific League. In most cases, teams that sign up must contain a minimum of 9 players that reside on at least one of the following continents:

- North America
- South America
- Oceania
- Asia (Japan only)

Now, what does this mean for European players? Well, we will largely be prohibiting European dominant teams from participating, however European dominant teams may be granted entry into the tournament on a case-by-case basis if they satisfy at least one of the following conditions:

- The registered Pacific League squad is an established European dominant team who is currently participating in MKU Season 23.
- The registered Pacific League squad has a minimum of 12 players overall, with a minimum of 4 players originating from North America, South America, Oceania or Japan.

We would like to re-iterate that European dominant teams may be denied entry into the tournament if tournament staff have doubts on a team's stability and overall ability to play every match, regardless if a European dominant team is defined as being eligible by the criteria listed above. European players who are unable to find a team are still allowed to participate, but they must join an American, Australian or Japanese dominant team.

Having said that, we will be heavily enforcing this policy by utilizing manual verifications on the MKCentral Registry. Teams will need to be manually verified by staff before officially being granted entry into the tournament. As a quick note, teams are able to send out invites to their players even if their team hasn't been verified yet, so there's no need to wait for staff verification. Teams who attempt to bypass this policy, such as inviting a bunch of superfluous American/Australian/Japanese players to their roster to hit the quota, will be denied entry to the tournament.

Staff reserve the right to deny any team's verification request or remove any team from the Pacific League Season 5 registry page for any reason.

Pacific League Season 5 will begin on February 2, 2024 and will end on March 1, 2024.
